Gunston Soccer Club programming and scheduling for the 2022 Spring Camps and Clinics is found below.
We look forward to seeing ALL of our community's soccer players on the fields this spring, whether new players, returning Gunston Recreational and Travel players, or past Gunston players hoping to be a part of Gunston Soccer Club's exciting future!

U7/U8 Program

The academy will provide professional technical coaching while cultivating a fun learning environment with the specific goal of producing competitive young players with a passion for the game. The academy is a transitional platform between recreational soccer and travel soccer by incorporating and combining the technical approach of the latter with the fun approach of the former.

Academy players will attend practices twice a week where their individual technical development will be guided and nurtured by members of Gunston's professional coaching staff. Practices will be technique-focused but game-driven to ensure the players' enthusiasm for the game is developed in unison with their technical ability.

To further prepare academy players for their transition to travel soccer, the academy will participate in a combination of scrimmages against other Gunston Academy players, and cross-over scrimmages against the academy programs of other Northern Virginia youth soccer clubs.
Practices will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 PM, and games will be held on Saturdays to mirror the schedule of a typical travel program. The cost for the academy program will cover Fall & Spring training (16 sessions each season), 8 Winter indoor training sessions, Winter indoor futsal games, coaching, insurance, and uniform and field expenses.

About TopSoccer:

US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Kids w/Disabilities ) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, who has a mental or physical disability. Our goal is to enable the thousands of young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful members of the US Youth Soccer family.

How do I participate? Contact your local US Youth Soccer State Association office to find out more about getting involved with a local US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer program. You can find State Association by clicking here. Or, simply contact your respective US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer Committee member by using the e-mail addresses listed below.

Why do we need a TopSoccer Program?
TOPSoccer was formed to perpetuate the US Youth Soccer mission statement which is, in part, “to foster the physical, mental and emotional growth and development of America’s youth through the sport of soccer at all levels of age and competition.” There are thousands of children with disabilities who need, and can be provided with, the opportunity to play soccer through the TOPSoccer program.
