⚽ Summer Coed Adult Tournament Rules & Information

🔹 General Information


To keep the tournament truly coed and balanced, each team must have at least 2 female players on the field at all times during games.


Teams are responsible for managing substitutions to make sure this requirement is always met.


Don’t have a full team? No problem!


Free agents are welcome! If you register as a free agent, we will place you on a team so everyone has a chance to play and compete.



Whether you sign up with friends or as an individual, we’re excited to have you join us for a fun and competitive event!


  • All players must be 18 years or older to participate.

(Photo IDs will be checked by the Tournament Director before first kickoff.)


  • Players may only appear on one team roster, regardless of division.


  • All teams are coed and must be large enough to support 7v7 play.


  • Minimum 10 players per roster is strongly recommended.


  • All participants must sign a Release of Liability Waiver via PlayMetrics before competing.


Required Equipment:


  • Shin guards (covered by socks)


  • Cleats encouraged (no metal studs)


  • Each team must supply two match balls

🔹 Rules of Play

  • Referee decisions are final and may not be overruled.


  • All games follow FIFA Laws of the Game, except where modified below.


  • Matches consist of two 20-minute halves with an 8–10 minute halftime.


Teams: 7v7 (including goalkeepers).


  • Minimum of 5 players required to start and finish a match.


  • A 3–0 forfeit may be awarded after a 5-minute grace period from scheduled kickoff.


  • Coed Requirement: At least two players of each gender must be on the field at all times.


  • Offside Rule: Not enforced — however, persistent cherry-picking is unsporting and may result in caution or card.


Slide Tackles:


  • Not allowed.


  • Contact = direct free kick + possible yellow/red card.


  • No-contact slide = indirect free kick + warning (1st) or yellow card (2nd).


Goalkeeper Distribution:


  • No punts, throws, or drop-kicks past the half line in a ball-in-hand situation.


  • Violation = indirect free kick for opposing team.


Red Cards:


  • Player must leave the field immediately and is suspended for next match.


  • A second red card = removal from the tournament and fenced-in area.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Group Stage Scoring:

  • Win = 3 points


  • Tie = 1 point


  • Loss = 0 points

Tiebreakers:

  1. Goals Against
  2. Goals For
  3. Head-to-Head
  4. Coin Toss

Finals & Consolation Games:

  • Tied matches go directly to PKs (no overtime).


  • Only on-field players at end of match may take PKs.


  • Each team selects five shooters, including at least one of each gender within the first three kicks.


  • If still tied, remaining on-field players rotate until a winner is decided.
