Gunston Soccer Club: Winter League 2025


We are looking forward to our outdoor league this winter. The Gunston Winter League is open to all players in Gunston soccer and the surrounding communities. All matches will be played on Saturdays or Sundays between 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM at Grist Mill or Mount Vernon High School. This league will be for players U9-U19.





Winter League Overview


All matches will take place at Grist Mill Park or Mount Vernon High School on Saturdays or Sundays between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.


Match Dates:


January: 17, 24, 31


February: 7, 14


Rain/Makeup Date: Sunday, February 21


Game Details:


Length: 50 minutes (2 x 25-minute halves)


Format: Matches only — no training sessions


Referees: Games will be self-officiated by coaches or parent/sibling volunteers


Cost:


Individual Registration: $65 per player

FAQ

  • How many players are on a team? How many play at one time?

    • U9 and U10 games will be 7v7, roster sizes should be between 10-12. U11 and older games will be 9v9, roster sizes should be between 12-14.

  • How does my team register?

    • If your team wants to play in the winter league one person will need to register the team through demosphere. Each individual player on that team will not need to register separately. 

    • Players will register individually and can indicate preference to stay with their team or coach. We will do our best to accommodate requests.

  • Will my team stay together?

    • Yes, if you register as a team your team will stay together.
    • We will work to keep teams together as much as possible, dependent on final registration numbers.

  • Can I have the same coach as I did in the Fall?

    • Yes, if your fall team signed up together, you will have the same coach.
    • There will be a space on the registration form to fill in your coach preference. We will do our best to accommodate requests.

  • Can I register as an individual?

    • Yes, if you would like to register as an individual and are not part of a team, we will place you on a team of similarly aged players.
    • Yes. All players interested in Winter League will register individually.

  • Are there training sessions with my Winter League team?

    • No. Winter League is match play only and is meant to give players game experience during the off season, work with new players and coaches, and have FUN!

  • Will Gunston have other winter training opportunities besides this outdoor league?

    Yes, there are other winter training options, including an outdoor training program on Wednesday nights and futsal clinic series on Sunday mornings.
