Gunston Soccer Academy will provide professional technical coaching while cultivating a fun learning environment with the specific goal of producing competitive young players with a passion for the game. The academy is both a program to supplement a player's recreation team experience while at the same time preparing athletes for their next step with the Gunston Travel Program.

Academy players will attend practices twice a week where their individual technical development will be guided and nurtured by members of Gunston's professional coaching staff. Practices will be technique-focused but game-driven to ensure the players' enthusiasm for the game is developed in unison with their technical ability.

Academy participants will participate in a combination of intrasquad scrimmages as well as friendly matches against the academy programs of other DMV youth soccer clubs.

Academy sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:45-6:45 PM at Mt. Vernon High School. Games will be held on Saturdays to mirror the schedule of a typical travel program. The cost for the academy program will cover Fall & Spring training (16 sessions each season), 8 Winter indoor training sessions, Winter indoor futsal games, coaching, insurance, and field expenses. (Seasonal registration is also available)
